Script: Abaqus Benchmarking Tool

By | September 20th, 2016|Abaqus FEA, Tips&Tricks|

We have published a tool that will enable you to easily create performance data for your workstations and laptops. I have always recommended our customers to run their jobs with at least two cores, to back up that statement it has been easier to provide a tool that measures performance increase over a number of cores on the customers’ configuration based on benchmark jobs provided by SIMULIA instead of providing empty promises. We are engineers that favors hard facts after all, aren’t we? […]

Abaqus: Running Job Batches with Python

By | April 12th, 2016|Abaqus FEA, Tips&Tricks|

As previously mentioned, running batches kicks ass! In that post I quickly described how to use bat files to get your workstation churning at all times. This time I’ll show you the necessary steps to convert this into python. Why you probably ask? Well, with python we can easily start to extend functionality to do cool stuff like logging solution time for each job in the batch, create real-time convergence plots and even schedule jobs. I will keep this post as basic as possible, so do not fear if you aren’t familiar with python – you’ll only need the ability to read and some basic logical thinking. If not, run. […]

By | May 7th, 2015|Abaqus FEA, Tips&Tricks|

Most of you have already experienced that Abaqus/Viewer is a very capable tool for graph generation. Built-in functionality enables us to create, edit and visualize XY-data in smooth matter.
